Gotham Season 5 Finale Reveals First Look At New Catwoman Actress

In case you missed it, Camren Bicondova is officially stepping down as Selina Kyle before the premiere of the Gotham Season 5 finale. The adult Catwoman will now be played by Ray Donovan actress Lili Simmons and we have the first images of the grown-up Selina.

The photos were shared by Entertainment Weekly and show Selina with Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), and James Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Take a look at the pictures below.

Bicondova made the announcement about the new Catwoman on her official Twitter account. The lengthy and heartfelt statement explained why it was necessary that Selina should be played by Simmons (hint: the finale takes place 10 years in the future).

"I wanted to give (the character) Selina Kyle as much respect as possible. Some will say that giving her respect would include seeing the character through to the end of the show, which I understand. But, I firmly believe that part of leaving a legacy and being part of a legacy means knowing when to pass the torch to someone else. I was blessed to be the vessel for Selina Kyle for her formative teen years, and it only felt right to give someone else the torch for her adult self," Bicondova wrote.

Interestingly, Bicondova made sure Simmons understood Selina before giving up her role.

"We spoke about Selina Kyle for hours; I shared journal entries and scenes that were prime examples of Selina's characteristics, and she shared thoughts of backstory for the 10 years that the audience doesn't see," she wrote.

The season finale titled The Beginning... will take place 10 years after Bruce Wayne left Gotham. Not surprisingly, he is expected to return as the Dark Knight.

Gotham Season 5 Episode 12 will premiere on Fox on April 25.
