Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Sequel Could Feature Biollante And Gigan

We already know which kaijus will be showing up in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. However, director Michael Dougherty has just admitted he wanted to add two more creatures in the film. Could this mean that this fan-favorite kaijus will make an appearance in the sequel?

Dougherty recently spoke to CinemaTodayJapan about King of the Monsters. The director stated that he would like to helm another Godzilla movie. Interestingly, Dougherty shared that he wants to introduce Biollante and Gigan in the future.

Biollante only had one major appearance in a Godzilla film but the kaiju proved to be one of the biggest Toho monsters. The creature appeared in the 1989 film Godzilla vs Biollante and is actually a hybrid between a rose, a human, and Godzilla.

Gigan could be an awesome addition to the current Godzilla films. After all, the cyborg space monster has large metallic hooks for arms and a buzzsaw in its abdomen. In addition to that, the monster managed to severely wound Godzilla in Godzilla vs Gigan.

It is still unclear if Dougherty will be asked to work on another Godzilla movie. For now, the sequel to King of the Monsters has been confirmed to be Godzilla vs Kong, which has already started production. We'll be waiting for more updates on new Godzilla films that will possibly feature Biollante and Gigan.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters will hit theaters on May 31. Godzilla vs Kong is scheduled for release on May 22, 2020.
