At this point, Game of Thrones fans may have given up hope on ever getting the chance to read The Winds of Winter. However, there might be some good news on the horizon. A website domain may have confirmed that the sixth book of A Song of Ice and Fire is ready to be published.

The first evidence comes from George R.R. Martin's own website which has updated the Next Publication section. If you check it today, you'll see a message that says, "Check back soon for information on future releases." A Reddit post has pointed out that the section was previously blank, suggesting that one of Martin's new works is ready to be published.

The second clue is just as cryptic. A Twitter post reveals that the domain thewindsofwinter.com has recently been purchased by a company.

So does this mean that The Winds of Winter is coming (heh, see what I did there?)? For now, we don't have an official confirmation from Martin but we're crossing our fingers and hoping we'll get an update really soon.

The Winds of Winter is probably the most highly anticipated novel, thanks to the success of Game of Thrones. Unfortunately, the HBO series has come and gone without the book being completed. Nevertheless, Martin insists that he is still working on it and promises that it will be published by next year. We're hoping that he's right this time.
