Game Of Thrones Season 8 Finale Is Just History Repeating Itself In Westeros

The final episode of Game of Thrones (yes, it's the last one ever) is only a few days away and people are still wondering how the HBO series will conclude. Could it end with an unexpected ruler on the Iron Throne? Will there be any prophecies that will actually be fulfilled in the show? Or is it all just a case of history repeating itself?

In The Bells, Daenerys Targaryen decided to destroy King's Landing, something that her father had wanted to do before he was killed by Jaime Lannister. Not surprisingly, people are shocked and concerned about Dany's descent into becoming the Mad Queen but her actions may have also hinted at how Game of Thrones will end.

A theory suggests that the final episode will open with Dany accusing Jon Snow of treason (he did tell his sisters about his true identity against Dany's wishes) and having him executed immediately. The death of Jon Snow could then lead to civil war as the Starks rally their allies (perhaps Gendry Baratheon?) to take on Dany.

Sounds familiar? It's Robert's Rebellion all over again, something that started with the kidnapping of Lyanna Stark as well as the death of Rickard and Brandon Stark. The civil war only ended when King Aerys Targaryen was killed by Jaime, something that could happen again in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6.

There is a possibility that Tyrion Lannister will end up killing Dany and the Iron Throne will ultimately be taken by Gendry, who has been legitimized by Dany herself. Or maybe Sansa Stark can rule Westeros. Either way, we're still seeing the three remaining houses shifting the Throne amongst themselves.

It's an interesting theory that might turn out to be right but since this is Game of Thrones, we're always left to expect the unexpected.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will conclude on May 19.
