Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 Promo Teases Major Casualties At Battle Of Winterfell

The second episode of the final season certainly concluded on a tense note. Not surprisingly, the teaser for Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 is all about the horrors of the Battle of Winterfell.

The still-untitled third episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 certainly isn't messing around. Sansa Stark puts it rather succinctly as the Unsullied and Grey Worm prepare for battle. "The most heroic thing we could do now is to look the truth in the face," she says.

All the major players are here. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen look down at the gathered troops. We see a glimpse at Samwell Tarly who has decided not to stay in the crypts after all. Sansa and Arya Stark are also waiting for the arrival of the White Walker army. Varys and Tyrion Lannister appear to be in the crypts while Jorah Mormont looks gravely concerned about the battle.

"The Night King is coming," Jon says as we see him looking shocked with what appears to be a great fire behind him. Are they needing to burn down the wights or could this be a different tragedy?

Once again, we get a glimpse at Arya running in the dark hallways of Winterfell as well as The Hound and Beric Dondarrion looking around the halls. Are they coming to help Arya next week?

There's a fleeting glimpse at what appears to be Viserion but it is unclear who is on his back. Theon Greyjoy is also shown with a bow and arrow while Jon takes out Longclaw in preparation for a fight. However, it is Dany's words that are truly haunting.

"The dead are already here," she tells Jon.

Meanwhile, Brienne of Tarth doesn't want her men to lose hope. "Stand your ground," she yells. Could this mean trouble for the newly knighted Brienne?

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 airs on HBO on April 28.
