Game Of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2 Set For Major Confrontation Between Jon Snow And Daenerys Targaryen

The premiere episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 has finally concluded and although people were delighted with several reunions, there were also some major surprises. For instance, Samwell Tarly finally dropped a huge bomb on Jon Snow.

Spoilers Ahead! You Have Been Warned!

In Episode 1, Bran Stark convinced Sam that he is the best person to tell Jon the truth about his parents being Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. At first, Sam was reluctant to do so but may have decided that it was the best thing he could do after learning that Daenerys Targaryen had killed his father and brother.

It's no surprise that Jon isn't ready for the truth considering how much he respects Ned Stark and refuses to believe that his "father" would lie to him all his life. However, Sam explains that it was his mother Lyanna who begged Ned to hide his identity to save Jon from being killed by Robert Baratheon. Naturally, it's a major bombshell because Jon is realizing that 1) his whole life has been a life, 2) he is the true heir to the Iron Throne, and 3) he's in love with his own aunt.

So will there be major confrontations in the second episode? It could happen quickly and it's possible that the relationship between Jon and Dany will get rocky. However, the preview for Episode 2 has also revealed that they have bigger problems to deal with.

The promo for Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2 confirms that the leaders of Winterfell will put Jaime Lannister on trial. In addition to that, things continue to be tense between Dany and Sansa Stark. Unfortunately, there are more things to worry about because the White Walkers are coming and it's a battle between the living and the dead.

Find out what happens next when Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2 airs on HBO on April 21.
