Game Of Thrones: Cersei Lannister's Pregnancy Might Prove That Show's Timeline Is Broken

The final season of Game of Thrones certainly seems to be moving quite rapidly, isn't it? People are traveling much faster and trips that usually last for half a season can now take place within just one episode. And yet, while time marches a little more quickly in the HBO series, Cersei Lannister's pregnancy doesn't appear to be catching up, and that could be a problem.

In the seventh season, Cersei revealed that she was pregnant with Jaime Lannister's child (again), an important detail that she passed on to her twin as well as her younger brother Tyrion Lannister. Since then, several months have passed (in the show, anyway), and now Cersei is trying to pass off her unborn child as Euron Greyjoy's. We can't really blame Euron for believing her since her belly isn't as swollen as one would expect in a woman who's supposed to be a few months pregnant.

So what exactly is happening with Cersei's belly? The easy explanation could be that she lied about the pregnancy to everybody, including Euron. Perhaps Cersei tried to use the fake pregnancy to convince Jaime to stay with her and to trick Tyrion into sympathizing with her. Some even believe that she may have already miscarried the baby and is simply faking it up until now.

The pregnancy might be a way to gauge just how broken the current Game of Thrones timeline is. However, it probably doesn't matter as much considering that Maggy the Frog had already prophecized that Cersei will only have three children, all of whom are already dead.

That's not the only thing that Cersei has to worry about at this point. For some reason, Game of Thrones hasn't been kind to pregnant women in the past. Every time a pregnancy is made into a big deal, something tragic happens to the mother or the child. Daenerys Targaryen gave birth to a stillborn, Talisa Maegyr was killed at the Red Wedding, Fat Walda and her newborn were fed to Ramsay Bolton's hounds.

The only exception to the rule (so far) has been Gilly and Little Sam. However, if Cersei truly is pregnant, she may have other things to worry about other than keeping the Iron Throne.
