Former Game Of Thrones Star Richard Madden Addresses James Bond Casting Rumors

Daniel Craig might still be the current 007 but people already have ideas on who could replace him in the future. Interestingly, one of the top contenders for the next James Bond is former Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden. Although several reports have suggested that the Bodyguard star is well on his way to becoming the new incarnation of the British spy, Madden isn't quite sure about taking the role just yet.

Madden recently spoke to Variety while promoting his new film Rocketman where he was asked if he was ready to be the new 007. Interestingly, the Cinderella star humbly denied the casting.

"It's very flattering to be involved in that conversation at all, but it's all just talk, and I'm sure next week it'll be someone different," Madden said.

Of course, it's possible that Madden is just trying to avoid putting the limelight on himself ahead of the premiere on James Bond 25 where the spy will still be played by Craig. Nevertheless, people are certainly rooting for him and we're hoping to get some good news in the near future.

Madden is best known for playing Robb Stark in the first three seasons of Game of Thrones. Although his character was expected to succeed as the King in the North in the HBO series, Robb ended up being one of the tragic victims at the Red Wedding.

Madden appears alongside Taron Egerton in Rocketman, which is scheduled for release on May 31. He is currently working on 1917, the new Sam Mendes film that is expected to premiere at Christmas this year.
