First Look At New Chucky In Child's Play Reboot Revealed

Chucky's back and he's looking ready for more blood in the Child's Play reboot. The first image of the new killer doll has just been released and it looks like the evil Good Guy doll isn't playing around.

The photo was released by Orion Pictures on their official Twitter account. Although it's just a small glimpse, there is little doubt that the new Chucky will be just as terrifying as the one that debuted in the 1988 classic. Take a look at the picture below.

You might not notice any major differences here. Chucky still has signature red hair and trademark freckles. However, the eyes are a deeper blue and the eyebrows have more texture. Chucky's eyebrows are also set at a menacing look as he brandishes a blade.

The Child's Play reboot will reportedly feature a high-tech version of the Good Guy Doll. We're not sure what this means but the toy might be able to do so much more than just say, "I'm Chucky, wanna play?" before it gets possessed. Somehow, the idea of a regular toy just going bad without being taken over by a serial killer is a scarier thought.

The synopsis for the Child's Play reboot reads as follows:

"Child's Play follows a mother (Aubrey Plaza) who gives her son (Mike and Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature."

The film will be directed by Lars Klevberg. The Norwegian filmmaker had recently worked on the supernatural thriller Polaroid which is based on his original short movie. Child's Play will only be Klevberg's second full-length film, having previously worked on a few truly terrifying shorts.

The release date for the Child's Play reboot has not yet been announced. However, the movie recently started production and could premiere in late 2019.
