The new trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has just been revealed at E3 2019 and it certainly earns the whole "ultimate alliance" part of the title. It's a HUGE alliance when you realize that you can actually play as the X-Men or Fantastic Four.
The trailer opens with the Black Order striding into position before we get brief glimpses at new characters Doctor Octopus, Hela, Surtur, Mysterio, Miles Morales, Kamala Khan, Spider-Gwen, Elektra, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. At one point, Magneto is shown handling the Power Stone but he isn't sure if it will work. "Even with this Stone at my command, this may not be a battle we can win," the mutant declares.
It's certainly exciting to see so many characters coming together in just one game but the trailer confirms that you can get access to characters that weren't available before. The expansion pass guarantees that you get additional content including Marvel Knights, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.
This is welcome news indeed considering that The Black Order will pit everyone against the Ultimate Big Bad: Thanos is coming and you'll need all the help you can get. However, you'll have to wait until fall to get the chance to play as Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and The Thing.
The official description for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order reads as follows:
"Assemble your ultimate team of Marvel Super Heroes from a huge cast including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and more! Team up with friends to prevent galactic devastation at the hands of the mad cosmic tyrant Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order."
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch on July 19. The expansion pass which includes the X-Men and Fantastic Four will be released later this year.
