Dracula Trailer Teases Bloody Fun with Legendary Vampire

What's this, another retelling of Bram Stoker's Dracula? Hush, this one is going to be interesting. The full trailer for Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss' new Dracula series is finally here and it confirms that the legendary vampire has a sense of humor.

The trailer opens with a warning: "There are monsters in this world." We're assuming that this one is directed at Jonathan Harker, who sets out to find Count Dracula in Transylvania. But is his new employer simply "persuasive" or is he truly a monster? Looks like Jonathan will have to find out the hard way.

At one point, several nuns are faced with a terrifying spectacle that makes one of them cry out, "This is devilry!" One of her companions knows better. "It's worse than that, it is the Devil," she answers.

From there, we are shown gorgeous shots of terror and beauty as Iggy Pop's Lust for Life plays in the background (this fits surprisingly well, if you ask me). Now we know this isn't just another gothic adaptation of the classic novel, because I don't remember the Count saying, "I'm undead, not unreasonable" in the book.

We've sort of known that the Dracula series would be very different since it's being developed by the men behind Sherlock so expect humor and bloody fun next year.

The series stars Claes Bang as the titular vampire. For now, Dracula does not yet have an official release date but is expected to premiere on BBC One in late 2020.
