Doctor Who Star Teases The Master's Return in Season 13

There is little doubt that the current incarnation of The Master is one of the best things about Doctor Who Series 12. But what are the chances that we'll get to see more of him in the future? Sacha Dhawan has just addressed the possibility of his return as the renegade Time Lord in Doctor Who Season 13.

Dhawan recently spoke to Digital Spy ahead of the Doctor Who Season 12 finale and not surprisingly, the actor was asked if he will be back in the next season. Interestingly, Dhawan admitted that he wasn't sure just yet but he is interested in continuing to play the villain.

"Yeah, I'd love to [return]," he said. "I'm just waiting to be asked, to be honest. I think, for me, I wasn't like, 'Oh, I hope this is a regular thing!'"

It's an idea that Whovians are looking forward to considering that Dhawan's performance as the Master is one of the best in the show so far. Dhawan confessed that playing the Doctor's greatest adversary was nerve-wracking at first but he has been pleased with how fans are reacting.

"I think the challenge for me was doing the role justice," he said. "The response has been really good, and really overwhelming. Hopefully, it'll still continue like that. So I'm just happy that the fans like it. And in all honesty, that's enough for me. If they ask me to come back, it's an added bonus."

We're hoping that we'll see more of Dhawan's Master in Doctor Who Season 13. That is if he survives the upcoming finale.

The final episode of Doctor Who Season 12 is titled The Timeless Children and is set to premiere on March 1.
