It seems like Mike Flanagan and Stephen King are a match made in heaven for horror fans. After all, the Doctor Sleep director had previously worked on an adaptation of the horror legend's Gerald's Game and both films have been well received. So is it time for Flanagan to work on yet another terrifying adaptation of King's works? Not surprisingly, it's already in development.

Flanagan recently spoke to Cinemablend to promote his new film and he somehow revealed that he's met with King on a new project.

"[We] are talking actively about what's next, and we have a great idea for that I'm not allowed to talk about yet, but it's really cool, and yeah, I expect there will be another chance to play in that sandbox very soon," Flanagan admitted.

This is exciting news for fans who couldn't get enough of Flanagan's works. For now, it's still unclear what the new movie (or TV series) will be about so you're welcome to imagine a new film about a rabid St. Bernard or a possessed car. We'll keep you updated once we get new details about the project.

It may take some time before Flanagan can begin working on his new project with King since he is currently filming the follow-up to The Haunting of Hill House. The second season anthology series has not yet been given an official premiere date but The Haunting of Bly Manor is expected to air on Netflix in 2020.

Doctor Sleep is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
