Disney+ Exceeded 15M Subscribers in First 5 Days Alone, Thanks to Baby Yoda

We already know that Disney+ was going to be a huge hit when it was announced earlier this year. So it's no surprise that a new report reveals that the streaming service had more than 15 million subscribers on the first five days following its launch. Naturally, people believe that it had a lot to do with Baby Yoda.

According to ScreenRant, Disney+ already enjoyed great numbers before its launch as more than two million people decided to pre-order their subscription. The numbers immediately rocketed to 10 million on the day of the service's launch.

So what caused the surge? There are speculations that it had a lot to do with the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, which also happened to premiere on the same day. Of course, we already know that the show had an adorable surprise in its first episode alone and curiosity immediately had people clamoring for a subscription just to see Baby Yoda.

If you think an 8-million surge is impressive, the streaming service continued to draw in more subscribers in the following four days, pushing the numbers to more than 15 million (via InMyArea). Again, this isn't a big surprise because the second episode of The Mandalorian was released just two days after the premiere and yes, it had more Baby Yoda.

Although we might be quick to credit Baby Yoda for Disney+'s success, it's important to remember that the service had more than just a Star Wars cutie to offer. There's also the adorable live-action reboot of Lady and the Tramp and every Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
