Disney CEO Bob Iger Might be Planning to Buy James Bond Franchise

It looks like the House of Mouse already has its eye on its next major purchase in the future. Disney CEO Bob Iger has just teased on possibly buying the James Bond franchise.

Iger was recently named Time's Businessperson of the Year and Disney's head honcho was interviewed by the magazine on his plans for the future. Interestingly, Iger revealed that Disney isn't buying anything soon but also hinted at what he might be keeping an eye on (via Digital Spy).

"We're not looking to buy anything right now. But I've always been a huge James Bond fan," Iger admitted.

It's an interesting comment that comes at a strange time considering that the new 007 movie has just released its first trailer. We're not sure if Iger is serious about buying the James Bond franchise but it should be an interesting purchase for the House of Mouse if it does happen.

The next James Bond film is titled No Time to Die and is expected to be Daniel Craig's final appearance as the British spy. The movie will introduce Rami Malek as the new villain Safin as well as Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch as Nomi, the agent who has taken the 007 title after Bond's retirement.

The premise of No Time to Die reads as follows:

"Five years after the capture of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, James Bond has left active service. He is approached by Felix Leiter, his friend and a CIA officer, who enlists his help in the search for a missing scientist. When it becomes apparent that the scientist was abducted, Bond must confront a danger the likes of which the world has never seen before."

No Time to Die will premiere on April 8, 2020.
