Dave Bautista Admits to Auditioning as Bane in The Batman

Are you one of those fans who have been hoping to see Bane in The Batman? Chances are, you may have thought of casting Dave Bautista for the role in the upcoming DC Extended Universe flick. Interestingly, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star may have confirmed that he had actually auditioned for the part but it didn't quite go as planned.

A fan recently tweeted about a rumor suggesting that Bautista might portray the character in the upcoming Robert Pattinson film. It didn't take long before the Blade Runner 2049 actor found the post and retweeted it with some interesting news. Check it out below.

"Unfortunately it's not," Bautista wrote before adding, "Tried my best."

Wait, what exactly does that mean? There are speculations that this would confirm Bautista auditioned for the role of Bane in The Batman. However, it doesn't reveal whether the character will actually show up in the movie and will be played by a different actor. Some also believe that Bautista may have been considered for the role but the character was ultimately left out of the film since there are already several villains confirmed to appear in the DCEU flick.

Bane has already appeared in two Batman movies in the past. A version of the character appeared in Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin where he was played by professional wrestler Robert Swenson. A more terrifying reincarnation of Bane was introduced in The Dark Knight Rises, this time played by future Venom star Tom Hardy.
