DC's Cyborg Movie Reportedly Shelved, Ray Fisher No Longer Returning As Victor Stone

The DC Extended Universe is certainly enjoying some success thanks to Aquaman and the upcoming equally lighthearted flick Shazam!. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like things are looking good for the other planned DCEU projects. A new report suggests that the Cyborg standalone movie is no longer happening.

According to We Got This Covered, a source revealed that Warner Bros. is no longer interested in pursuing the Cyborg standalone film. Although Ray Fisher was initially expected to star in the DCEU movie, the studio reportedly has no interest in bringing back Victor Stone even for a cameo in any of the ongoing films.

Fisher was introduced as Victor in Justice League and was expected to reprise the role in Cyborg. The film was initially scheduled for release on April 3, 2020, but there haven't been any updates on the project since 2014.

People have been speculating about Cyborg being shelved for some time now. Some believe that the new incarnation of Victor Stone (played by Joivan Wade) in the DC Universe series Doom Patrol may have been a sign. Although it is still unclear if the DCEU movie will move forward, we can still see Cyborg in other projects.

Cyborg isn't the only DCEU project that appears to be in some trouble. It was previously reported that Ezra Miller is working with comic book legend Grant Morrison to rewrite the script for The Flash. However, since Miller's plans for the film might be "darker" than what Warner Bros. is planning, it's also possible that the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald star could abandon the project.
