Chris Evans Addresses Steve Rogers' Possible Return in Falcon and The Winter Soldier

Avengers: Endgame concluded with Steve Rogers passing his shield to the new Captain America Sam Wilson but is there any chance that Steve could still return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? There have been speculations that Cap might show up in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Interestingly, Chris Evans has addressed the possibility of Steve showing up in the upcoming Disney+ show.

Evans recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight while promoting his new film Knives Out. When asked if he could reprise his iconic role in the Marvel series, Evans had an obvious response.

"No, probably not. I mean it was really tough to say goodnight," Evans said. "There was a million ways that whole tenure with Marvel could have gone wrong and it didn't, and so to stick the landing so well they would be ashamed to kind of revisit unless there was something very unique and we felt the need to reveal. So for now, it just feels like let's just let's be content with how well it ended."

It's not the answer that fans are hoping for but Evans does have a point. Steve's exit in Endgame was the perfect set-up for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the character's story arc has already been tied up in the best possible way. Nevertheless, we wouldn't be surprised if Steve has a small cameo in the show.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will bring back Anthony Mackie as Sam and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes. They will be joined by Daniel Bruhl's Baron Zemo and Emily VanCamp's Sharon Carter. Wyatt Russell will join the cast as US Agent aka John Walker.
