Charlie Cox Admits He Still Wants To Explore Bullseye Storyline After Daredevil Cancellation

People are still not over the unexpected cancellation of Daredevil after its successful third season. Interestingly, Charlie Cox is just as unhappy considering that he was looking forward to seeing more of Agent Benjamin Poindexter aka Bullseye.

Cox recently made an appearance at the ACE Comic Con in Phoenix where he opened up about the Daredevil cancellation (via ComicBook.com). The Stardust actor admitted that he will miss working on the intense action sequences he had to do in the Netflix series. However, the one thing that really made him sore about the cancellation was how the third season built up on Bullseye's story but the subject might never get explored.

"As I was reading the scripts, I'm like, 'He's Bullseye! Is he? Yeah! Maybe not?' You're just not sure... When they showed the trailer for the first time, we all watched it and they showed the image of the cap with the bullseye. Everyone was freaking out, man! It was so cool. That's, I think, the biggest- the thing that I'm most sad about is that we won't get to really explore that relationship going forward. The Bullseye-Daredevil relationship."

Dex certainly played a major role in Daredevil Season 3 and the series somehow hinted at how the character could eventually embrace the Bullseye persona with the help of Doctor Oyama, a surgeon who could turn out to be the X-Men villain Lord Dark Wind. Unfortunately, Netflix cancelled the series before a fourth season could be developed.

Although Cox will no longer return as Matt Murdock, he is set to work with another Marvel Cinematic Universe star. Cox has been cast alongside Tom Hiddleston in the London play Betrayal. There is no word yet on whether Matt will show up in the second season of The Punisher.

The Punisher Season 2 will air on Netflix on January 18.
