Chadwick Boseman Might Not Return in Black Panther 2 Due to Pay Dispute

There is little doubt that fans are still concerned about Chadwick Boseman after he posted a video showing his shocking weight loss. However, it looks like there's another reason to be concerned about the Avengers: Endgame star. A new report reveals that Boseman might not be returning in Black Panther 2 because of a pay dispute.

Cosmic Book News reports that there are speculations that Boseman has been unhappy with his paycheck for the first Black Panther film and is aiming to get more with the second movie. However, it is believed that Black Panther 2 will ultimately replace T'Challa with his own sister Shuri, who could take on the Black Panther mantle in the sequel. In addition to that, the new MCU flick could introduce Namor as Marvel's major black superhero.

Interestingly, the rumors started shortly after Boseman's video went viral. However, there is a possibility that the actor is simply preparing for a different film that requires the drastic weight loss. Additionally, Black Panther 2 isn't due until 2022 which should give Boseman enough time to bulk up again for the role. With that in mind, it is best to take these details with a grain of salt.

Black Panther 2 will once again be directed by Ryan Coogler and is expected to bring back Boseman, Leticia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, and Danai Gurira. The sequel is scheduled for release in May 2022.
