Captain Marvel: Nick Fury May Have Sent Message To MCU Character Who Knows Carol Danvers' Location

Avengers: Infinity War concluded on a hopeful note as the disintegrating Nick Fury somehow managed to send a message to Captain Marvel. But is it possible that the former SHIELD leader was actually trying to reach out to a completely different character? A new theory suggests that Fury was contacting someone who knows of Carol Danvers' current location.

A Reddit post surmises on the possibility that Captain Marvel will introduce the younger version of an established Marvel Cinematic Universe character other than Fury and Agent Phil Coulson. The theory wonders if we will see a young Hawkeye as well considering that Fury seems to trust Clint Barton to always keep an eye on everything important.

The post points out that Fury had assigned Hawkeye to keep an eye on Mjolnir in Thor as well as the Tesseract in Avengers. Could Clint also be the only one who knows where Carol has been hiding all these years?

There's a lot of plot holes in this particular theory but it's an interesting one nonetheless. After all, Captain Marvel has already cast a young actor named Colin Ford in an undisclosed role. The Under the Dome star bears a slight resemblance to Jeremy Renner, who has played Hawkeye in several MCU films.

We'd be interested in seeing this theory come to light but it's important to point out that these details are based on speculations so best to take it with a grain of salt.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as the titular superhero who starts out as a US Air Force pilot before becoming a member of the Kree's elite military team Starforce. Jude Law will play Carol's mentor Mar-Vell while Ben Mendelsohn will portray the villainous Talos, the leader of the Skrulls who invades Earth.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
