CBS' The Stand Wants Alexander Skarsgård As The Man In Black

It looks like CBS has found the perfect Randall Flagg. A new report reveals that the network is already planning to cast Alexander Skarsgard as the Man in Black in the upcoming series adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand.

The report comes from Collider which reveals that Skarsgard has been cast in the show which already boasts of names like Amber Heard, James Marsden, Odessa Young, Henry Zaga, and Whoopi Goldberg. The casting is truly a big one but has not yet been announced by CBS.

Skarsgard seems like the perfect choice to play Flagg, the omnipresent villain who has terrorized King's readers in The Dark Tower series as well as The Eyes of The Dragon. We already know he can play a charming baddie, thanks to his stunning performance in Big Little Lies. In addition to that, he already has a connection to the Kingverse since he's the big brother of Bill Skarsgard of It: Chapter Two. It's not hard to imagine the Man in Black is related to Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

Interestingly, King had confirmed four other names that will be joining The Stand. During his guesting on ABC's The View, the author revealed that The Leftovers' Jovan Adepo will play Larry Underwood while Brad William Henke of Orange Is the New Black has been cast as Tom Cullen. Rescue Me star Daniel Sunjata will portray Cobb. Lastly, It: Chapter One actor Owen Teague will return to the Kingverse as Harold Lauder.

The Stand has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
