Brie Larson Fans React To Captain Marvel 2 Being Greenlit by Marvel Studios

It looks like all those petitions against Brie Larson returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe did not work at all. It has just been revealed that Captain Marvel 2 is still happening and fans couldn't be any happier.

The revelation comes from insider Thomas Polito of GeeksWorldWide, who tweeted about the sequel to 2019's Captain Marvel. Check it out below.

"It should come as no surprise, but Marvel filed the LLC 'Warbird Productions II' on February 13th, which means Captain Marvel 2 is officially greenlit," Polito wrote.

This is good news for fans who have been hoping to see more of Carol Danvers after her debut in the 2019 film and her eventual return in Avengers: Endgame. Needless to say, people are already celebrating Captain Marvel 2 on social media.

So far, we're only seeing some great reactions to Captain Marvel 2. However, that doesn't mean that people haven't been trying to find ways to get Larson out of the MCU. It was previously reported that a petition was started calling on Disney to replace the Room star with an actor of color. The petition suggests that Marvel Studios should introduce Monica Rambeau as the new Captain Marvel instead of Carol.

For now, the details about Captain Marvel 2 have not yet been revealed so it is unclear whether it will be about Carol or Monica. Likewise, it has not yet been confirmed whether Larson will direct the sequel. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
