Blizzard Confirms Diablo 4 will have Cosmetic Microtransactions

The surprise announcement of Diablo IV at BlizzCon 2019 was truly a dream come true for gamers who have been hoping for the title for several years. But now it's time for the harsh reality. Blizzard has just confirmed that the new game will include microtransactions for cosmetic items.

The news was confirmed by Blizzard in a video with Twitch streamer Quin69 (via Comicbook.com). In the video, it was revealed that there will be expansions as well as microtransactions for cosmetic items that will be locked in the game. This pretty much means that if you want your character to look good, you'll have to pay for some fancy armor and accessories.

That doesn't sound so bad, now does it? Well, actually, it's pretty bad. Microtransactions might be acceptable for free-to-play games but considering that Diablo IV will retail for $60 and also have expansions, it's a pricey title to own.

The cosmetic microtransactions aren't the only thing that is dampening our spirits. It was previously revealed that Diablo IV will not be available off-line. Although we're truly excited because the new game already looks stunning in both the cinematic and gameplay trailers, we can't help feeling that it might be a little too much for the average gamer. Perhaps it's time we implore Lilith, blessed mother, to save us ... from spending too much on this title.

Diablo IV has not yet been given an official release date since it is currently in development. However, the game will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in the near future.
