The Black Widow presentation at D23 Expo 2019 certainly had a lot of surprises for Marvel fans. In addition to unveiling Natasha Romanoff's new white suit, we also got our first glimpse at David Harbour as Red Guardian.

The footage that was screened at D23 had most of the same scenes that were revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. However, there was a lot of new sequences as well, two of which put the focus on Harbour's Alexei Shostakov.

Alexei first shows up looking a little disheveled as he meets up with Natasha and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova. Although it is unclear what happened to him, he is clearly pleased to see the two again. "Family, back together again," Alexei says to the women in a Russian accent. He then puts on his Red Guardian suit.

It's certainly a family that kicks ass together as the second scene where Harbour appears shows all three in action. We're certainly hoping to see more of Red Guardian when the first official Black Widow trailer is dropped.

The footage also pits Scarlett Johansson's character against Taskmaster. Unfortunately, the villain is still wearing a mask so there is no way to tell who is playing him (or her) just yet. However, the scene does show off Nat's new white suit that was later unveiled on stage at D23.

Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and also stars Rachel Weisz. The film is scheduled for release on May 1, 2020.
