T'Challa is coming back in 2022. Black Panther 2 has just been confirmed at D23 Expo 2019.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed the good news along with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler at the Disney Movies panel at D23 (via Variety). Coogler also revealed the reason why the sequel was not immediately announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.

"We're not taking our time, we're really trying to get it right," Coogler said. Although we really wish they could begin production much sooner, we'll have to accept that it does take time to come up with a great follow-up to the 2018 movie.

The details about Black Panther 2 were not revealed just yet. However, Coogler admitted that he has already pitched a story along with a new villain and title for the sequel. It's also safe to say that Chadwick Boseman will reprise his role as the King of Wakanda in the highly anticipated film.

So what are the chances that Michael B. Jordan will return as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther 2? There have been speculations that N'Jadaka will make an appearance in the sequel although the character was killed off in the first movie. Some believe that Jordan could appear in a flashback or the character could mysteriously be brought back. At this point, it's all based on theory so we recommend taking it with a grain of salt.

Black Panther 2 has not yet been given an official production date. Nevertheless, the sequel is already scheduled for release on May 6, 2022.
