Black Adam Producer Teases Epic Showdown with Shazam! in the Works

It's no secret that we were supposed to see Black Adam in Shazam! but the scene had been removed from the film's theatrical release. However, that doesn't mean we won't be seeing an epic showdown between Dwayne Johnson and Zachary Levi. Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia has admitted that they are working on a crossover that will introduce the character into the rest of the DC Extended Universe.

Garcia recently spoke to Variety where he pointed out how he and business partner Johnson are planning Black Adam's future clash with Shazam in the DCEU.

"We're working closely with DC in terms of what the plan is for how everyone fits together," Garcia said. "It's still in the works, but obviously Shazam exists in the Black Adam universe."

So what can we expect when the two superpowered characters meet up? Garcia didn't share too much but he admitted that they have huge plans for Black Adam.

"I can just say that we have very big ambitions for Black Adam and all of the characters that we're introducing. How they're going to connect with other characters is still all being laid out, but I think fans are going to be happy, ultimately, with the way we end up guiding it," he said.

That's a much better tease on the face-off compared to what Levi has said. It was previously reported that Levi chose to play coy about his character's possible fight with Black Adam, claiming it was "above my pay grade."

Black Adam is set to begin production early next year. The film is scheduled for release on December 22, 2021.
