Black Adam Film Reportedly Looking for 'Alexandra Shipp' Type Actress for Cyclone

It looks like Black Adam could be adding another member of the Justice Society of America. A new report reveals that the DC Extended Universe flick is currently looking to cast Maxine Hunkel aka Cyclone and they want someone like Alexandra Shipp to play the character.

According to The Illuminerdi, Warner Bros. is already planning to introduce Cyclone in Black Adam and the studio already has an idea of who could be the perfect type for the role. Interestingly, WB is looking for someone similar to Shipp, who had played Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Although details about the casting call were not revealed, it's still interesting to know that Cyclone is one of the DC comic book characters who is set to join Black Adam. In the comics, she has the power to manipulate wind and is able to create tornadoes. The report also stated that Maxine will be introduced as the love interest of Atom Smasher, who will be portrayed by To All The Boys I've Loved Before star Noah Centineo.

For now, it is unclear why Warner Bros. hasn't decided to cast Shipp herself for the role considering that she has already proven she can play someone with superpowers. There is a possibility that the studio is looking for someone who hasn't been previously attached to a comic book film and would be interested in a fresh face. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Black Adam will star Dwayne Johnson as the titular character. Filming is expected to start in early 2021 and the movie is scheduled for release on December 22, 2021.
