Avengers: Endgame Might Be Perfect, But It Failed Black Widow [SPOILERS]

It's finally here. Avengers: Endgame is finally screening worldwide and some fans are proclaiming it the best Marvel Cinematic Universe flick in history. The film certainly is close to perfection but it does have one major flaw: It failed to give Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow the storyline she deserves.

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead! Proceed With Caution!

In Endgame, we get to see the Natasha Romanoff that we have always been used to. Although the Avengers failed to get Thanos to reverse the snap in the first part of the film and were all wallowing in their defeat, Nat was once again the strength of the team as she kept fighting.

As the team finds a way to undo everything that happened, they all agree that they will do "whatever it takes" to succeed. Not surprisingly, some messed up their chances quite poorly but still managed to get a second chance. But for Nat and Clint Barton, who ended up on Vormir to retrieve the Soul Stone, there was no room for mistakes.

Nat ultimately sacrifices herself to make sure Clint gets the Soul Stone and a chance to see his family again. It's an emotional moment not just because it cut her story arc short. The scene somehow gave Nat the short end of the story by becoming the one character that was dispensable.

Nat's absence was also sorely felt in the awesome all-woman team up in the final battle. Here were all the powerful women in the MCU but the woman who started it all was nowhere to be found.

Although Endgame concluded without Black Widow being brought back, fans can rest assured that Johansson still has one more trick up her sleeve. She is set to return in the planned Black Widow movie, which is now expected to be set in the past. Still, Nat deserved much better in Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
