Arrow Star Katie Cassidy Wants to Play Gender-Bent Joker

We already know Katie Cassidy as the Arrowverse version of Black Canary and Black Siren. However, it looks like the Arrow star has her eye on another DC comic book character. Interestingly, it just happens to be a Batman villain.

Cassidy was recently a guest on Geek House Show where she was asked if there were other DC characters that she had wanted to play. Not surprisingly, the Legends of Tomorrow star admitted that she wants to take on the role of another comic book character who is known for wearing a leather catsuit.

"Yes, Catwoman," Cassidy said. "I've always been a big fan. Michelle Pfeiffer killed it as Catwoman. I also happen to be a big fan of cats."

We already love this response but Cassidy also added that she is hoping to go up against Batman as a completely unexpected character. She then continued that it "would be really cool to play The Joker, but as a woman."

This is an interesting idea considering that the Joker is one of the most well-known Batman villains and has always been played by a man. But is there a possibility that DC would actually consider a gender-bent Joker? For now, it seems unlikely but it would be cool if the studio takes Cassidy's pitch seriously.

What do you think of a gender-bent Joker played by Katie Cassidy? Do you think it would work? Sound off in the comments below.
