Armie Hammer's Justice League Mortal Batman Cowl Revealed

We might be getting Robert Pattinson as the new Caped Crusader in The Batman but there was a time when Armie Hammer was supposed to play the DC comic book character. The Call Me By Your Name star had initially been cast as Batman in Justice League Mortal before the film was scrapped. Interestingly, Hammer had actually been fitted for the Batman cowl and an image of the costume has just been revealed.

The photo was shared by filmmaker Ryan Unicomb on his official Instagram account and it appears to have been in the early works when the movie was scrapped. Check it out below.

"Since the world is in lockdown and I feel like we need an injection of some 'cool shit' into the community. Here's ONE of Armie Hammer's cowls from #JusticeLeagueMortal - Be good and be safe y'all! Much love. Made by @wetaworkshop," Unicomb wrote before adding the hashtags #JusticeLeague, #Batman, #TheBatman, #ArmieHammer, #JusticeLeague, #GeorgeMiller, #WarnerBrothers, #Cowl, and #Costume.

If you're wondering why the cowl isn't in Batman's signature black, we may be looking at the unfinished work for the film. Interestingly, Unicomb added that the costume was supposed to show more wear and tear as the film progresses, which means that the Dark Knight would have gone through several fights throughout the movie.

It's an awesome post that has us wondering what could have been if Justice League Mortal wasn't cancelled. Nevertheless, we can still rest assured that we're getting a new Batman film soon.

Production on The Batman has been suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). The movie is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
