Aquaman TV Spot Pits Jason Momoa Against Black Manta, Bar Bullies

Nobody should ever mess with Jason Momoa. Nevertheless, the new TV spot for Aquaman shows Arthur Curry having to fight Black Manta as well as random bullies calling him "fish boy."

The teaser opens with Arthur trying to enjoy a beer when a group of bikers approaches him, making him spill his drink. One of the thugs taunts him, asking if he's "that fish boy." Arthur has the best response for the bullies: "It's Fish Man."

He might be prone to bullying but Arthur's mother Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) has high hopes for her son. "You could unite our worlds one day, the land and the sea," she says.

Arthur isn't quite convinced of his own power. "I'm not a king," he tells Mera (Amber Heard). "I'm nobody." However, she believes he can make a difference. "You are part of something deeper. I can see that. Can you?" she asks.

At one point, the two of them are attacked by Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) but Arthur saves Mera. There's an awesome scene showing the mercenary using a blade against Arthur, who shields the blow and punches Black Manta in the head (or helmet).

It's an awesome TV spot that takes some of the best scenes from the Aquaman extended trailer. It looks like the fight between Arthur and Black Manta will be part of a major sequence in the highly anticipated DC Extended Universe flick.

The film is directed by James Wan and also stars Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Djimon Hounsou, and Graham McTavish.

Aquaman hits theaters on December 21.
