Alan Rickman's Diaries to be Published as a Book

It has been over four years since the passing of Alan Rickman but it looks like fans of the Harry Potter star will still get the chance to learn more about the late actor. It has been confirmed that Rickman's diaries, which span over 25 years, will be compiled into a book that will be released in 2022.

According to The Guardian, Canongate and Holt will publish 27 volumes of Rickman's diaries that will be edited together in one book titled The Diaries of Alan Rickman. The journals will be edited by The Scottish Review of Books Editor-In-Chief Alan Taylor.

But why are there so many volumes? The report confirms that Rickman actually started writing the diaries back in the 1990s. The veteran actor had kept adding entries to his journals up until his death with the intention of publishing them one day.

Rickman's widow Rima Horton is involved with the project and believes that Taylor is the best editor who could work on her late husband's diaries.

"The diaries reveal not just Alan Rickman the actor, but the real Alan–his sense of humour, his sharp observation, his craftsmanship and his devotion to the arts," Horton said in a statement.

Rickman is known for playing so many memorable characters although younger audiences connect him with his powerful performance as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies. Needless to say, we can't wait to read more about the late actor in the future.

The Diaries of Alan Rickman will be published in 2022.
