No, Michael Bay Has Nothing To Do With The Dora The Explorer Movie

The Dora the Explorer movie generated a lot of interest when the first look photo of Isabela Moner as everyone's favorite "super cool exploradora" made its way online yesterday. The film might be based off a children's animated series, but the live-action movie actually seemed to want to feature a teenage version of Dora.

Now, as fans continue to wait for more information about the Dora the Explorer movie, it looks like Michael Bay has a bit of clarification – the Transformers director and his production company Platinum Dunes aren't actually involved with the movie.

The news might come as a surprise since everyone used to think that Bay was producing Paramount Picture's live-action adaptation of Dora the Explorer, but a new announcement has just been put up on Bay's account on Twitter. The new post clarifies the director's involvement in the project, saying straight up that "Bay or Platinum Dunes has nothing to do with the Dora movie."

It's a pretty strong post, but then again everyone assumed that Bay was part of the project in the first place. While the announcement denies any involvement in the Dora the Explorer film project, it also gives fans an idea of what Bay is actually up to – working on filming his Netflix project starring Ryan Reynolds, Six Underground.

Dora the Explorer is scheduled to come exploring in cinemas on August 02, 2019.
