No Deleted Scenes in Star Wars: Rogue One Blu-Ray DVD Madden Fans

Fans had cheered at the release of the Blu-Ray DVD of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But the Christmas-come-early spirit was dampened at the news that the DVD would not contain any deleted scenes. Fans are taking to social media to vent their disappointment and anger, leading to a mini-backlash that has started spreading all over the internet.

It was not the lack of content that kicked them into action. News prior to and after the release of the movie had already stated that there were scenes that had been shot and had been excised from the theatrical release. Additional reshoots also made fans want to see the original footage that they had replaced.

As reported by Express, comments veered from sarcastic jokes that the best scenes had gone to the trailers to questions demanding who made the decision not to include the deleted footage.

Perhaps the most colorful comment raised an outcry, ""Rogue OneBlu Raydoesn't have ANY deleted scenes? Are they f**king kidding?!?! Half the bloody film was reshot and we get none of it?!?!"

The so-called backlash ultimately won't affect the success of the Blu-Ray. Rogue One had already earned $1 billion at the box-office, and demand for its DVD version indicates that sales will skyrocket. Some retailers are offering action figures and fantastically shot photos of the cast that just might compensate for the lack of deleted scenes.

Star Wars fans are a loyal bunch and they will overlook this seeming neglect. But given that devotion, Lucasfilm and Disney should at least have an explanation of why the deleted scenes were not included. The fans do deserve that much, right?

In the meantime, feast your eyes on the clip below as a reminder how awesome Rogue One: A Star WarsStory truly was.
