Nintendo Switch is Teased With Intense Features, New Trailer & A Lot of Support

Nintendo has finally announced its new console—and the name itself seems to be hinting at the company's goal for the console. And that is to let you switch your way of play when you need and want it.

Dubbed as the Nintendo Switch, the new console allows players to literally switch their gameplay experience from a home console to a more on-the-go controller for commuter play.

Announced through a press release, the Nintendo Switch is confirmed to allow seamless gaming when transferring from a home console to a handheld device. This gives players a very vast approach to how they want to play their games, when they want to play them, and whom they want to play games with.

Already, Nintendo has quite the list of third-party developers that will be providing support and games to the Nintendo Switch. Among these include Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Capcom, Atlus, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, FromSoftware, Koei Tecmo, PlatinumGames, Square Enix, SEGA, Take-Two, Ubisoft, Unity Technologies, Telltale Games, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Fans should note that those are just the more well-known ones, as there are over 45 developers already onboard for the Nintendo Switch.

"Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like. It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries."

When at home, players can put the Nintendo Switch on the Dock, which connects the system to the TV for home gaming. If you have to leave the house, all you have to do is take it out of the Dock and transform it into its portable mode on-the-go.

The controller itself seems to have its own mechanics. The Joy-Con controllers are detachable from the sides of the Nintendo Switch. These can be used for one player to enjoy a two-hand controller gaming, or perhaps for co-op or versus battles, two players can each take one Joy-Con.

Perhaps the biggest experience for gamers is the social play. According to Nintendo, players can bring together their Nintendo Switch systems for local multiplayer face-to-face competitions.

So far, the Nintendo Switch is still slated for a March launch. All of the other details, including the specs, price, actual launch date, and even game demos will be showcased later on.
