Nightwing Director Wants White Eyes on the Mask

White eyes have been a staple for superheroes in the comics, but it's always been hard to pull off when it comes to live action. Some fans want the white eyes element to make it to the DCEU's Nightwing costume, and director Chris McKay totally agrees.

A fan had tried to catch McKay's attention online by tweeting about wanting white eyes or lenses for the Bat-family mask; to witch McKay simply replied:

Very few live-action iterations of heroes have given us the white-eye effect from comics. Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight gave us a small taste of it, but the only time they seem to have been fully implemented was during the Deadpool movie where they were animated via CGI.

I guess the old Spawn movie also had lenses for eyes, but not everyone wants to sit through that again.

With the DCEU's Batman still having pupils, I think it's a matter of uniform that the rest of the Bat-family will have pupils as well. They have the same aesthetic for the video games, and it seems that people are fine with the way it looks.

Then again, if McKay manages to pull it off in his solo movie, I would be pretty impressed.

No release date has been announced for Nightwing.
