X-Men: The Animated Series Actor Norm 'Cyclops' Spencer Has Passed Away

Some truly tragic news has hit the web as voice actor Norm Spencer has passed away. If you grew up in the ‘90s, Spencer provided the voice for Cyclops in X-Men: The Animated Series, with many of us still hearing him when we read our X-Men comics. The Canadian actor was 62 when he passed away and we're going to miss hearing him as Scott "Slim" Summers.

The news was confirmed by his friend Cal Dodd, who voiced Wolverine in X-Men: The Animated Series. Dodd revealed the news on Twitter, saying that the man was a genuine sweetheart and pointing out how he will be missed. We can only imagine how Dodd feels, along with the friends and family of Spencer so our condolences go to them.

It really has been a depressing year for Marvel fans and superhero lovers in general. Norm Spencer did voice a number of other characters and starred in a variety of media but most of us will forever know him as Cyclops. The man not only voiced Cyclops for every episode the hero appeared in X-Men: The Animated Series but he also lent his vocal talents to Scott in the popular Marvel vs Capcom games, starting with X-Men: Children of the Atom until Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Fans who haven't yet can check out X-Men: The Animated Series on Disney+. Rest in power Norm Spencer.
