X-Men: Dark Phoenix Was Constantly Being Rewritten During Production

X-Men: Dark Phoenix ended up being worse than expected, with many saying that it's actually just as bad as X-Men: The Last Stand, if not more. The fact that this is the finale to Fox's once beloved franchise makes it even more terrible when you consider the legacy of good movies that came out of this brand. As we all scavenge for how it got this bad, Dark Phoenix stars Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain actually revealed some.

During an interview with ScreenRant, the two actresses revealed that the movie was constantly being rewritten DURING production. That's right, while the movie was being shot, the script was also being edited for changes, which is always a recipe for disaster. Yeah, we know Endgame made some last-minute changes too but the story always had an endpoint.

Here is what Turner and Chastain had to say about the rewrites:

Turner:"Simon and I would sit down for two hours every day and just comb through each page of the script, there was rewriting being done all the time."
Chastain: "You could have a conversation and something comes from that and then the next morning, Simon would show up to work and say, 'hey, I wrote some pages that I think could be interesting for this direction we're going.'"

YIKES.

We all know that Marvel Studios is going to add the X-Men to their lineup immediately, though a number of us are hoping that the Fantastic Four get a movie first. Seriously, that group needs a good movie. At least one.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is now showing in theaters. Watch if you dare.
