X-Force Rises From the Ashes of Extermination, Launches This December

The Cable we all knew and loved was killed by a younger version of himself in the pages of Extermination and his friends are angry about it. So angry in fact, that they have reformed X-Force and are on the hunt for this new Kid Cable. Interestingly enough, the character they're hunting looks like their teammate in the cover so they might be adding him to the group sooner or later.

X-Force #1 will be launching in December and is going to be written by Ed Brisson, who wrote Cable's death in Extermination. Pepe Larraz from Extermination joins the book as well, along with Dylann Burnett.

It's clear that fans will need context from that series before picking this up but fans of the characters may want to get it no matter what. Aside from Kid Cable, the book has plenty of X-Force veterans like Domino, Shatterstar, Warpath, Cannonball, Boom Boom, and Deathlok. It's essentially classic X-Force but with Deathlok, who was a part of the group during Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force.

We haven't had an X-Force book in a few years and it seemed like Weapon X would fill that void. In fact, that group of Sabretooth's are now calling themselves Weapon X-Force. Expect a crossover between the two groups.

X-Force #1 hits comic stores in December.
