Why Ghost Rider is Coming to Hulu and Not ABC

After his appearance in Agents of SHIELD floored fans, everyone was pretty excited to hear that a Ghost Rider series would be coming to Hulu. However, those same fans found it a bit odd that the character's show will be in a completely different network. Then again, both ABC and Hulu are basically owned by Disney at this point but that is beside the point.

Speaking with Deadline, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb stated that Ghost Rider is being brought to Hulu because the platform allows them to make more mature content. This implies that they want to take the character into some adult situations and the fact that it's a part of Marvel's Adventure into Fear banner of shows might be why.

Here's what Loeb had to say:

"But no, we never intended for it to be on ABC because we wanted to do a show that was more mature."

This definitely makes more sense since the character isn't exactly made for a PG-13 movie, despite that one hilarious Nicholas Cage movie. He's a character who usually sends his enemies to Hell and does so in a painful and creepy way, which is why so many adults and edgy teens gravitate toward the character.

Honestly, Ghost Rider wouldn't have been out of place with the Netflix heroes and since they no longer have shows to watch, Hulu is the next best option.

No release date for Hulu's Ghost Rider has been announced.
