WWE's Rey Mysterio Dressed as Joaquin Phoenix's Joker During Survivor Series

This year's Survivor Series was an interesting event since it showcased the company's NXT brand in a positive light, having them win four of the seven brand vs brand vs brand matches. However, comic book fans looking for something to enjoy will like how Rey Mysterio dressed up like Joaquin Phoenix's Joker to take on WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and he had a pipe to use too. Coincidence? Yeah, probably.

Funnily enough, this is not the first time Mysterio has portrayed the Clown Prince of Crime, as the luchador dressed as Heath Ledger's version back in WrestleMania 25, which was 10 years ago. Crazy. Rey Mysterio has also dressed as a number of Marvel and DC characters, like Spider-Man, Daredevil, Silver Surfer, Wolverine, and so much more, making Mysterio the coolest wrestler ever.

It wasn't a perfect night for Rey Mysterio though since he ended up losing to Lesnar and failing to capture his second WWE Championship. However, Rey did have some awesome spots, including teaming up with his son to give Lesnar a double 619 and Frog Splash combo. Those spots were great and made me wish Rey won, though it wasn't meant to be.

Seems like Mysterio's current storyline with Lesnar is done, at least for now. This was a solid match and one that fans really liked, even if it was quicker than most would have liked. Most of us wouldn't have minded the length if Rey won but that didn't happen.
