Vin Diesel Officially Cast As Bloodshot

He's not just Groot anymore. Sony has officially cast Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel as the title star of Bloodshot, the film adaptation of the popular comic book from Valiant Entertainment. The studio has big plans for a Valiant cinematic universe, so there is a lot riding on this film.

Deadline reported the news, also confirming that Deadpool collaborator Dave Wilson will be making his directorial debut with the Valiant film. Wilson has worked with Deadpool director Tim Miller numerous times, helping the director out on the X-Men spin-off and the upcoming Terminator reboot.

Apparently, the film will be tonally similar to Robocop, Terminator, and Total Recall, which sounds quite promising. Sony is hoping to start the film's principal photography by July, though no release date has been revealed thus far.

The deal reunites Vin Diesel with producer Neal H. Moritz, who also produced the Fast and Furious franchise. He will produce the film alongside Toby Jaffe and Dinesh Shamdasani. Matthew Vaughn and Dan Mintz are executive producers. Andrea Giannetti will oversee for Sony.
