Thor and Beta Ray Bill may have started out fighting in The Mighty Thor #337 but these two have been allies ever since, going on various adventures and helping each other out a lot. Jason Aaron's run has ended, with the writer wrapping up his arc with the King Thor mini, and Marvel's golden boy Donny Cates will be taking over in January. Cates is going to change up some things since February's Thor #3 will be about Thor vs Beta Ray Bill, which could divide fans.
Now that Thor is the King of Asgard, one has to wonder what he could have done to raise the ire of his good friend since he should presumably be more responsible now. Plus, Beta Ray Bill has been a much calmer hero in recent memory so having him fight Thor here is pretty out of character. Then again, this is comic books so there's a good chance that Bill will be possessed or this could be one big misunderstanding.
Fans still have a lot of questions regarding Donny Cates' Thor run, like how the God of Thunder got his new costume. Thor is also getting his arm back somehow, which should be interesting to read about. Cates did say that this will all come naturally as we read his stories so here's hoping this fight with Beta Ray Bill feels the same way.
Donny Cates begins his Thor run this January, with Thor #1 and Thor #2 coming out in that month. Thor #3 comes out in February and it's going to be Thor vs Beta Ray Bill. Who d'you got?
