The Phantom Stranger Will Be Spotlighted in Upcoming Swamp Thing Episode

The Phantom Stranger has always been one of DC Comics' most intriguing characters, often acting as an all-knowing being who is supremely powerful to boot. The Stranger is often used as a holy-like character, especially when paired up with The Spectre, who many see as his polar opposite. There aren't many live-action versions of this character so it will be interesting to see how he is used in the DC Universe series Swamp Thing.

Sorry, the canceled DC Universe series Swamp Thing.

For now, here is the official synopsis of the episode:

"Haunted by the ghost of her childhood friend who reemerges from the swamp, Abby's forced to confront both her past with the Sunderlands as well as the dark forces at play in Marais. While she continues to search for a cure for Alec, he struggles to come to terms with his transformation with the help of a mysterious Phantom Stranger (recurring guest star MACON BLAIR). When Abby's life is threatened, Swamp Thing is able to use his abilities to save her, but it's Matt, ultimately, who saves the day – further isolating Swamp Thing from the human world. Meanwhile, Sheriff Cable learns some disturbing information about her son, while Jason Woodrue shares a revelation about Swamp Thing with Avery Sunderland."

It's gonna be cool seeing how they bring the character to life, though he does have one of the easiest costumes to portray on television. Hopefully, he is used well and DC considers making a second season since one might not be enough for fans.

DC Universe's (canceled) Swamp Thing can be streamed on the service now.
