The CW Officially Orders Batwoman Series, First Teaser Released

Arrow might be ending after its eighth season but DC's CW-verse will likely live on, especially now that the network has officially ordered the long-reported Batwoman series. Set in one of the many alternate Earths showcased in the network's recent DC crossover, the series will be the first DC-CW show to star an LGBTQ actress and focus on a character with the same sexual preference.

TVLine confirmed that Batwoman was given the green light, along with other reported CW shows like Nancy Drew. The CW also released an official teaser for the series, though it doesn't reveal much. We see her next to the Bat-Signal and looking over what's left of Gotham City after Batman mysteriously left for reasons unknown.

It should be known that this series is not connected to any other form of DC media, so she will not be teaming up with DC Universe's Titans anytime soon. We could see her have team-ups with The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow but that's probably it. Unless a new DC-CW series is announced in the future.

No, Black Lightning is not a part of the Arrow-verse, even though it airs on the CW.

Batwoman will be "coming soon," though is likely for a 2020 release. The series will star Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose, who has also appeared in John Wick: Chapter Two.
