The Boys Showrunner Teases More Exciting Cameos for Season 2

The Boys is up there with Good Omens and American Gods as some of the best programmings from Amazon Prime. Its first season was filled with great action, a ton of gore, some character writing that will surprise anyone watching television, and so much more. After an amazing cliffhanger ending that is leaving us begging for more, showrunner Eric Kripke has got us more excited by teasing several cameos that can happen in The Boys Season 2.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Kripke confirmed that Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito will be reprising his role as Stan Edgar from the first season's finale. Kripke says that Esposito, mostly known for playing Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, will appear in four or five more episodes, which is fairly promising.

"Sure enough, in Season 2, that becomes a really important character. So I had to call him and go, 'Hey, remember that cameo you did for me as a favor in Season 1?… Now I need you for four to five more episodes.' To his credit, thank God, he's available and enthusiastic."

Kripke is also hoping to get Executive Producer Seth Rogen to cameo in one of the show's VCU (Vaught Cinematic Universe) movies, hoping to make the comedian a Phil Coulson-type figure for these films. Rogen did appear in a quick commercial for a VCU film during the first season, coining the term and sharing his excitement for these movies.

"In Season 2, we're filming a movie within a [show] called Dawn of the Seven, and we're all talking about wouldn't it be great if Seth was one of the main characters of that movie, he was like the Agent Coulson of the group? If his schedule is clear, we'll do that."

Fans can stream The Boys right now on Amazon Prime. No release date for Season 2 has been revealed.
