Well, that didn't take too long. After many of us wondered why Rose Tico hasn't been seen in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker marketing, Yakface.com has released a number of the film's official standees for cinemas, with Rose Tico and her new look revealed as one of them. She's not the only one either, with the Knights of Ren, Dominic Monaghan's character that has yet to be named, and so much more also shown.
It's actually pretty cool seeing these characters showcased like this, which has been a pretty normal tradition for Star Wars movies. You want it to seem like every character is cool so that toys sell before you find out they get killed in one shot or are completely wasted. Seriously, how could they screw over Captain Phasma twice? Especially since she has a really cool deleted scene in The Last Jedi.
Anyway, it's neat seeing characters get their own standees since it makes them feel important. We're pretty sure that some of these characters will only get a moment or two under the sun before being killed or removed from the story completely, especially with all the new blood that is being added in this final installment.
Personally, I can't wait to see these standees in the theater I attend when I go to an upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker screening event. Hopefully, little kids don't break them since I want some pictures with these cool standees.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be coming to theaters on December 20.
