Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Poster Gives Carrie Fisher Top Billing and Fans Can't Stop Crying

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker recently got its last trailer that gave fans what they wanted but a new poster was also released, which originally didn't get a lot of people talking. That changed when fans noticed that none other than Carrie Fisher has received top billing for the movie, which has a lot of fans bawling their eyes out. The Last Jedi wasn't able to give Fisher a proper goodbye but it looks like The Rise of Skywalker will be able to do so.

It's a subtle thing that some hardcore fans found out (thanks to ComicBook.com) but they were sure delighted to see this. We're also loving the fact that Mark Hamill got the second-best billing here, showing that LucasFilm and Disney are giving him the respect he deserves.

Granted, some people would argue that it should be the younger cast members like Daisy Ridley and John Boyega who should get top billing but that's a whole other topic.

While we can expect to see General Leia Organa in other media, this will be the last time we see Fisher as the iconic character. It's easy to see why they decided to give her top billing since many fans will be checking this movie out just to see her perform for the last time. It's going to make a lot of us sad but such is life.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming to cinemas on December 20.
