Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Novelization Solves a Major Ben Solo Plothole

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker tried its best to be a crowd-pleasing movie but ended up becoming a huge misfire to many, though it still has a number of fans who feel that it isn't that different from the previous films. The film left a number of plot holes that forced a number of tie-in material to solve them, including this major one about Ben Solo.

After Rey spared his life and healed him, many of us wondered how the former Kylo Ren managed to find Rey after throwing away his lightsaber and having a talk with his dead dad. Thanks to Rae Carson's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Expanded Edition) novel, we now know the details.

It's revealed that Ben Solo had to climb through the ruins of the Death Star to find a working ship, which also managed to have a capable hyperdrive. What are the odds? So, how did he make it to Exegol? Well, he simply followed Rey's transmitted tracking markers, though Ben's ship was an old one and he did have some trouble finding her, due to navicomputers that were barely working.

While we appreciate the fact that there are answers to these glaring omissions, the fact that we need to get them through other media is pretty annoying. It's one of the many reasons why a lot of people are so disappointed in The Rise of Skywalker. Sure, all movies have plot holes like this when you really think hard about them but The Rise of Skywalker proved to be too much for everyone.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing on Disney+ and can be bought on digital stores, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
